Biao Tian, Engineer of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences. He mainly engages in research on polar atmospheric environment observation and assessment, participates in realizing the upgrade and transformation of the Antarctic Zhongshan Atmospheric Background Observation from manual observation to automated observation, and promotes its inclusion in the national sequence of atmospheric background stations. He participated in the scientific expedition to the East Rongbuk Glacier of Mount Qomolangma in 2017; successively participated in the expeditions to the China's Arctic Yellow River Station in 2018 and 2024; took part in the snow management support work for the Beijing Winter Olympics from 2020 to 2022; successively participated in the 35th China's Antarctic Expedition (at Zhongshan Station), the 39th China's Antarctic Expedition (at Kunlun Station), and the 2024 Arctic Greenland Ice Sheet Expedition, and was awarded the title of "Outstanding Member of China's Polar Expeditions". He presides over 1 Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, has published 22 papers in domestic and foreign journals including Earth System Science Data, Environmental Research Letters and Atmospheric Research, has obtained 7 patents and 1 software copyright, and won the 2023 Annual "Outstanding Youth Award" of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences.
